Whangarei Museum – Here you will gain a sense of place through the stories and history told through a collection founded in c1890
Kiwi House – Here in Northland’s only nocturnal house we turn day into night to create a living, natural environment for New Zealand’s iconic bird, the kiwi. Also home to several species of beautiful native gecko and Flash the Tuatara- the only one of his kind in the North.
Heritage Park – Set on 25 hectares with views across the city to the heads, the park is home to several heritage buildings including ‘Glorat’ the Clarke Homestead built-in 1886, Oruaiti Chapel c1860, Riponui Pah School c1898, Whangarei Women’s Jail c1900, and the Mander Study built in 1906.
